
The FMS Route panel gives you control over the vertical (pitch) and lateral (roll) components of your aircraft's FMS (Flight Management System) route. Consistent with the other Flight Deck Controls, the fields in the FMS Route panel use the same color scheme. The FMS Route panel is also home to the Hold Control panel.

By clicking on the "NEXT WAYPOINT" button, a drop-down menu appears, listing all the downstream waypoints in your aircraft's FMS route. You can use your keyboard to directly type in this field.

If you click on the "DIR TO" button, a list will appear, showing commonly used waypoints used in "direct to" air traffic control clearances. This list can contain waypoints that are not in your FMS route.

If you check the box marked "Precision Descend," your aircraft will automatically descend down to the first hard crossing restriction, (11000 ft. at the waypoint BAMBE), starting at the VNAV TOD (Vertical Navigation, Top of Descent). This cleared altitude will be reflected in the altitude field of your aircraft's MCP.

By checking the box marked "Descend via Transition," your aircraft will automatically descend down to the second hard crossing restriction, (2300 ft. at the waypoint GUUDE). This setting will also program your aircraft to meet all crossing restrictions on the way to GUUDE. This cleared altitude will be reflected in the altitude field of your aircraft's MCP.

If you check the box marked "Descend for landing," your aircraft will automatically descend down to meet the runway (600 ft.). This cleared altitude will be reflected in the altitude field of your aircraft's MCP.

Clicking on the "STAR" button displays a drop-down menu listing the available STARs (Standard Arrival Routes) for your FMS route. When you select a STAR from the list, it will load into the FMS and display in the STAR field of the FMS Route panel. You can use your keyboard to directly type in this field.

If you click on the "TRANS" button, a list will appear, displaying the available approach transitions for your FMS route. When you select an approach transition from the list, it will load into the FMS and display in the TRANS field of the FMS Route panel. You can use your keyboard to directly type in this field.

By clicking on the "APPROACH" button, a drop-down menu will appear, listing the available runway approaches for you FMS route. When you select a runway approach from the list, it will load into the FMS and display in the APPROACH field of the FMS Route panel. You can use your keyboard to directly type in this field.
