In May 2017, Dr. Erin Flynn-Evans was interviewed for a Cable News Network (CNN) segment on the challenge faced by astronauts of obtaining sufficient sleep in space. During this segment, Dr. Flynn-Evans explained that astronauts "essentially experience a perpetual jet lag" while in space. She also explained that shift-workers on earth experience the same sleep issues.
