Division Booths at the 2018 Bay Area Science Festival Discovery Day at AT&T Park
(Nov 5, 2018)
On November 3, 2018, the Human Systems Integration Division hosted two booths at the 2018 Bay Area Science Festival (BASF) Discovery Day at AT&T Park in San Francisco. The festival showcased over 150 interactive and informative exhibits and afforded a chance for the estimated 30,000-35,000 attendees to meet local scientists and engineers. Several thousand people visited the two division booths, which featured hands-on demonstrations of Next Generation Air Traffic Management (ATM) concepts, including a new Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM) system. In addition, the booths included a demonstration of a self-scheduling tool called Playbook that allows astronauts and controllers to manipulate timelined mission activities. Division researchers and staff were on hand to talk about the division's research and distribute outreach materials. More information on the division is at https://hsi.arc.nasa.gov.
