The Trajectory Oriented Operations With Limited Delegation (TOOWiLD) concept was demonstrated to Lisa Porter, Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) Associate Administrator, and Mary Peters, Secretary of Transportation, as well as representatives of the FAA, Joint Planning and Development Office (JPDO), Congressmen, and others in the ARMD booth at the NextGen Day on the Hill event in Washington, D.C. on June 13, 2007. In support of an aviation air/ground integration theme, TOOWiLD is a concept that integrates time-based metering, strategic trajectory-based operations, and limited delegation clearances. In a recent simulation of the TOOWiLD concept, the Multi-aircraft Control System (MACS) software was used to create a better understanding of the future air and ground elements proposed for NextGen. Using the MACS software, visitors to the booth had an opportunity to assume the roles of pilot and controller using the two-laptop stations on a table top, while viewing the interaction on two 42" wall mounted plasma screens.

Visitors to the booth included Lisa Porter, Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate Associate Administrator; Marion Blakey, FAA Administrator; Mary Peters, Secretary of Transportation; Jim Oberstar, Congressman (D - MN) and Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure; Vernon Ehlers, Congressman (R-MI), member of The House Committee on Science & Technology and The Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, as well as Charles Leader, JPDO Director. The NASA ARMD booth was located in the House Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee Hearing Room in the Sam Rayburn building in Washington, D.C. Everett Palmer, Walter Johnson, Thomas Prevot, Vernol Battiste, and Nancy Smith gave the demonstrations and discussed the TOOWiLD concept with attendees.
