Aeronautics Leading Edge Seminar broadcast on NASA Education TV from NASA Headquarters

Nancy Smith from the Human Systems Integration Division (Code TH) was a panelist as part of the Aeronautics Leading Edge Seminar broadcast on NASA Education TV from NASA Headquarters on September 3 at 8am Pacific time. The seminar's subject is Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and the associated research that earned NASA and its partners the coveted Collier Trophy for 2007. ADS-B uses Global Positioning System information to give pilots and air traffic controllers highly accurate traffic data. The seminar's moderators were Beth Dickey (from the NASA HQ Public Affairs Office) and Jaiwon Shin (ARMD Associate Administrator). The panelists were Bryan Barmore from LaRC, Captain Bob Hilb from United Parcel Service (retired), Robert Novia from the FAA Surveillance and Broadcast Services Office, and Nancy Smith from Ames. The seminar was rebroadcast by NASA at a later date and will also be available from the NASA website as a podcast.
