In October 2012, Dr. Immanuel Barshi from the Human System Integration Division was honored with the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. Dr. Barshi graduated from UCM in 1987 with a BS degree in Aviation Technology, and in 1988 with an MA degree in English Literature. While visiting UCM for the awards ceremony, Dr. Barshi gave several presentations about his current NASA research to the Safety ScienceDepartment, the Psychology Department and the School of Aviation. In addition, he had several meetings with student groups and faculty members.
